The Postgraduate Medical Education Board of the NMC has issued an important announcement regarding postgraduate medical admissions. The Updated Notice has reported an extension to the submission date of admission data related to NEET-PG 2025 by all Medical Colleges in India to the NMC by 08-April, 2026.
This updated notice is very significant for all types of medical colleges involved with postgraduate medical admissions for the academic year 2025/2026.
What is the Latest Update?
Submitting all medical college admission data to the NMC Admission Management Portal was mandated for all medical colleges on 08-April, 2026. However, there have been problems experienced by many of the institutions involved in submitting data to complete the deadline per the original requirement.
The new date for submitting the previously required admission data will now be changed to 15 April 2026, thus allowing colleges to finish the submission process accurately and without any added time after the deadline.

Why Was the Deadline Extended?
Per the notice from the NMC PGMEB, many of the institutes involved in this data collection experienced issues with uploading their admission data into the system, ranging from technical issues with computer equipment to various problems related to the overall computerized system.
When the PGMEB reviewed this situation, they felt it would be in the best interest of all colleges to extend the timeline to allow all colleges to be able to provide accurate and complete information on a timely basis to the NMC. The NMC believes this extension will provide an opportunity for all colleges to be able to submit their admission data to the NMC without any complications. Through this effort, the NMC continues to demonstrate its commitment to transparency and fairness in the admissions process.
Who Needs to Take Action?
The following individuals are responsible for taking specific actions regarding their respective organizations and collaborative partnerships:
- Deans and Directors at Every Medical School

The individuals listed above shall ensure that the required admissions-related information is entered/uploaded by deadlines established by NMC in accordance with NMC policies every academic year (as determined by NMC).
What Information Needs to Be Submitted?
At a minimum, all Medical Schools participating in the NEET-PG 2025 admissions process are required to upload complete records related to all students who were admitted into their programs (as a result of participating in the NEET-PG 2025 exam). Examples of such information include:
- Student Admission Records

Providing a complete submission as outlined above is essential for NMC to be able to monitor educational programs for compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, or standards.

By utilizing this type of system, NMC will be able to monitor the following areas:
- Ensuring Fairness in the Admission Process
- The Proper Recording of Admissions to Medical Education Programs
- Ongoing Compliance by Educational Institutions with Established Regulations and Standards
The successful implementation of the Admission Monitoring Portal will provide the framework necessary to maintain public trust in the integrity of the Medical Education System in India.
