Admission Procedure at AIIMS New Delhi
- Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who want to apply for MBBS at AIIMS New Delhi must fulfill these conditions:
- 17 years of age must be reached by the 31st of December in their year of application.
- Candidates who wish to apply for admission into the MBBS program must have obtained a minimum of 50% overall aggregate score in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) subjects.
- In order for AIIMS to be on a candidate’s admission list, they must have passed NEET-UG and acquired an impressive All India Rank (if applicable).

- All India Rank—1st (normally requires total NEET score = 710+)

Step-by-Step Admission Process
- Step 1: NEET UG Registration & Examination
To take the NEET-Ug exam, you have to register at the NTA website (neet.nta.nic.in). The registration for NEET UG 2026 opened in February 2026, and the exam is scheduled for May 3rd, 2026. You must prepare well to obtain a good rank.
- Step 2: NEET Results
You can usually expect to see the results 4-6 weeks after the exam date. You can download your scorecard and rank letter from the official NEET website.
- Step 3: MCC NEET UG Counselling Registration
After the results have been announced, you may wish to register for the centralized counseling that is administered by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). MCC’s registration for 2026 will likely start in June 2026. You will also need to pay the counseling registration fee.
- Step 4: Choice Filling
Once you have registered for counseling, you will need to fill in your choice of college and major. Your first choice should be AIIMS in Delhi if you qualify for admission into that particular school. You must also lock in your choice of college before the deadline for closing choice filling.
- Step 5: Seat Allocation
The following step is the MCC’s seat allocation process. MCC has multiple rounds of seat allocation. You can verify the results for seat allotment for each round by checking on the official MCC website. Please note that if you are a top ranker, you should get a seat at AIIMS Delhi during Round 1.
- Step 6: Document Verification
Next, every student who is assigned to AIIMS Delhi will need to appear at AIIMS for the verification of their original documents, as well as one photocopy of each of their required documents. You may be required to appear for your document verification between the date assigned by the MCC.
- Step 7: Fee Payment & Final Admission
After your document verification has been completed, you will need to pay your admission fee and your hostel security deposit, as well as undergo a medical examination to complete your admission process. Once you have done this, you will receive your admission letter and find out where you will be placed in the hostel.
- Step 8: Classes Begin
The academic year usually begins sometime in August. You should attend the orientation meeting and obtain your ID card, library borrowing card, and other materials from your college.
